The Hollins offers a diverse and inspiring curriculum for pupils across all year groups. We aim to prepare our pupils for exciting and productive futures in an expanding global society by providing a curriculum which balances academic rigour with creative and enterprising opportunities. Classroom learning is further enhanced by cross-curricular enrichment activities, and educational visits. Pupils are encouraged to develop independent learning and thinking skills, and our assessment systems promote active development of a valuable ‘Attitude to Learning’
In Key Stage 3 (years 7,8 and 9) – all pupils are taught Art, Computer Science, Design Technology, Drama, English, French or Spanish, Games, Geography, History, Information Technology, Maths, Music, PE, Religious Studies, Science and Personal Health and Social Education.
At Key Stage 4 – all pupils will be taught Games, English Language, English Literature, Maths, Religious Studies and Science. At the end of year 9 pupils will have chosen subjects that interests them the most and so will have made 3 choices from: Art, Business, Child Development, Creative iMedia, Computing, Design Technology: specialising in Materials or Textiles, Engineering, French, Geography, History, Music, Performing Art, Physical Education, Sociology, Sports Studies and Spanish.
