Our learning resource centre has all the tools, resources and support you will need to develop as an independent learner.

All our KS3 classes spend one hour a week during their English lesson in the school LRC where they spend half of the lesson reading and the other half completing Bedrock learning. To learn more about whole school reading, please visit the reading page here.

The LRC is a learning environment containing resources that have been specially selected by teachers and library staff to help you succeed in your studies. In addition, there is a wide range of literature to extend your learning beyond the curriculum and encourage reading for pleasure.

In the Learning Resource Centre, you can find:

  • Drop-in ICT facilities
  • Internet access and online resources
  • Textbooks, journals and newspapers
  • e-books and e-journals
  • Fiction and graphic novels
  • Tables for group and individual study
  • Quiet reading area
  • Quiet study area
  • DVDs

The LRC is open daily at break, lunchtime and after school until 4.00pm.
