LEARNING BEYOND THE CURRICULUM

“Lets Be” is our extended services programme and it plays an integral part at The Hollins and as a result the school offers high quality provision of a variety of extra-curricular activities and projects that help develop pupils’ social, moral, spiritual and cultural experiences. In return, building social cohesion, developing skills, improving attainment and achievement, and ‘tapping’ into pupils’ sense of curiosity, imagination and adventure occurs.

Our community-based extended learning programmes have been award winning and have also been used as examples of good practice This reflects the ethos and culture that exists at the school that ensures all pupils have access to a broad educational experience, which raises their aspirations, attainment, achievement, attendance and social wellbeing.
The school staff, pupils and our partners work collaboratively to ensure that The Hollins is a centre of excellence in the provision of extended services.
