On the 16th of October 2019 we took 26 students to Krakow and Berlin on a history trip. As we have been studying the Rise of Hitler we wanted to really bring home the atrocities of the Nazi regime, therefore the focus of the trip was our visit to Auschwitz and Birkenau. During this visit the students witnessed the extremities of the persecution and the horrors of these two concentration camps.

We also visited the Jewish Museum and had a personal interview with a holocaust victim. After which we went for a guided tour through the Schindler factory.

The next day we flew to Berlin, where students went on a historical walking tour of the city during which the students saw: Hitler’s bunker, the Reichstag building, Brandenburg gate, Check point Charlie and we visited the Topography of Terror Museum.

The students were amazing and was a proud representation of the values we uphold at the Hollins.
